Public Affairs & Sustainability Manager

Ivan is leading the implementation of the Deposit Return Scheme in Slovakia in Plzensky Prazdroj. He also helps educate the beer industry on the topic through Slovak Beer and Malt Association and leads the can recycling work group at the Deposit Return Scheme administrator. In Plzensky Prazdroj, he helps implement the new sustainability strategy and develop programs to support communities and manages relations with institutions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He joined Prazdroj from the parent group Asahi Europe & International, where he was responsible for communication and managed relations with European institutions.

Petra has been working in Plzensky Prazdroj since 2012 and in 2014 she became Innovation manager with key focus on innovation beyond liquid & packaging. Since 2020, she has been active member of innovative projects connected with circular packaging. Her key role is to ensure smooth project governance and effective involvement of all key internal stakeholders. Petra brings energy & passion to projects and is always committed to move projects forward.

Rebeka Tunegová graduated as MSc at Loughborough University London in Innovation & Sport Business, as well as BA (Hons) in Marketing, advertising & public realitions at University of Worcester. As a marketing manager she´s been operating in various industries with the main focus on innovations. For more than five years she´s been in the UK working primarily in the sector of digital marketing and buidling of social media strategies for various brands, mostly operating in sports industry. As a marketing manager she´s been responsible for complex marketing campaigns for slovak olympic centre x-bionic sphere and small and large-scale sports events. From 2020 she works for Plzeňský Prazdroj in the department of trade marketing, where she´s responsible for off trade activations, primarily for brands Pilsner Urquell and Šariš. The main projects include planning and execution of off trade visibility, brand activations and development of secondary packaging – multipacks.

Michal Karásek graduated from the Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University – sociology and psychology. He dedicated his professional career to Field Marketing, which he has been working on for more than 15 years. He gained experience throughout his work in several positions – from being a promoter, the key account manager to taking part in the production process in several companies. At present, his mission is to create “Bezva propagace” company. This project aims to seek creative ways to present clients’ products and services in the 21st century, including the circular economy concept.

After studying marketing, she devoted herself to building and developing gastronomic establishments. At the same time, she gained experience within advertising agencies as an account manager for clients of various kinds. She combined her love for gastronomy and marketing into one and currently works in the position of Brand Manager for Plzenský Prazdroj for more than 2 years. After successful relaunch of Velkopopovický Kozel she shifted her enthusiasm to another brand.  Maja is currently developing her love brand – Pilsner Urquell – and is responsible for its growth both in the brand’s attributes and in value.

Jakub has joined Cocoon in 2007 as a strategist. Before he worked for five years as a qualitative researcher. He has helped big global clients, as well as local producers endeavouring to turn their trade marks into actual brands. Jakub’s role is irreplaceable especially in projects where it is necessary to transform the client’s business and strategic vision into a creative solution or when a fresh new strategy – whether a brand, portfolio, or new product development, is needed – where he capitalizes on his sense for consumer behaviour and deep insight into multi-layered contexts.

He has been active for a long time within the Association for Infrastructure Development of the Czech Republic, where he has been a member of the steering committee since 2012.

Kateřina specializes in sustainability of buildings. She worked as a project leader in development of sustainable offices and residential housing in Skanska. She co-founded Rethink Architecture, a platform that educates about sustainable architecture. And she does research in building sustainability at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague. You can expect difficult questions from her, but also a lot of tips and encouragement for you to succeed in GreenHack!

Project manager of Smart Prague - Smart Building and Energy

Jiří has joined the Smart Prague team to lead projects related to energy management and energy efficiency in Prague’s municipal buildings. Indeed, Smart Building and Energy is one of the pillars of the Smart Prague 2030 Strategy which is implemented by the Smart Prague team.
One of the most significant projects supervised by Jiří consisted in using the EPC method in order to save more than 4 million euros in 12 years and to reduce Prague’s CO2 emissions by 45% by 2030 and to become a carbon-neutral city by 2050. This project of the city of Prague was awarded in 2019 by The Association of Energy Service Providers (APES) of the Czech Republic.

At the same time, the company performs unique Circular waste scans. Cyril is a long-term expert on innovation and in circular economy fields. He graduated from University of economics where he studied Economics and Economic Policy and he continued to PhD studies. In that period, Cyril was in charge of innovations in Raiffeisenbank and creation of Raiffeisen Advisory. He was an innovation leader in the company Direct People and is Editor in chief of the papers Circular Czechia 1 and 2.

Pavel Zedníček

Operations manager

Pavel Zedníček is currently in charge of operations at the Institute for Circular Economy (INCIEN). Pavel finished studied at the University of Chemistry and Technology (VŠCHT) and finished his master’s degree at the Utrecht University in the Netherlands in the field of Sustainable business and Innovations. He completed an exchange study at the prestigious Swiss university ETH Zurich, focusing on material flows and climate models. Pavel participated in projects or internships abroad, including France, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and Shanghai. In the Czech Republic, he co-founded the Czech EIT Climate-KIC Hub, which focuses on supporting (technological) innovations that mitigate climate impacts. Its main focus at INCIEN is currently the potential of the circular economy to achieve climate goals in heavy industry, where industrial symbiosis plays an important role. He also specializes in the analysis of material flows and the topic of bioeconomy (utilization of organic side streams). Pavel is also part of the working group on circular economy at the City of Prague.

James co-founded MMT Digital after he graduated in 1999 and has since grown it to be one of the UKs leading technical agencies with over 160 people, and offices in the Midlands, London and Leeds.
In 2019 he took the company carbon negative, offsetting far more carbon than they produce and aiming to half their carbon footprint over the next 4 years. As the co-chair of the BIMA Sustainability Council he now runs a training course for other companies on how to model and reduce their carbon footprints using the tools and processes he developed and that are now available via the website that supports his initiative (netcarbonnegative.co.uk).
In 2020 MMT Digital became part of MSQ and James helped them to became carbon negative across their entire global operations. James is now the group’s Chief Sustainability Officer and is leading the carbon reduction strategy. Through his low-carbon website “The Green Pages”, developed with the BIMA Council, he also supports teams in how to build lower carbon digital solutions.

His strong skill is to understand the business needs and translate them into systemic solution, while keeping focus on the value creation. In the past he contributed to the successful electricity market entry for the two main gas players on CZ and SK market (products, pricing tools, processes), and currently he works as a Director of Retail and Consulting in Nano Green (Nano Energies)​.

František is an expert on renewable resources, electromobility, business models & prototyping. He is passionate about technlogies and nature.

Veronika combines work experience from public administration, NGOs and private sector in the field of promoting sustainability. Recently she worked as a sustainability manager in  the biggest Czech professional platform for sustainable business BpS where she drove topics such as circular economy, food waste prevention and non-financial reporting there. She is currently working on the Strategy of Prague towards a circular economy by 2030 on behalf of the Prague Innovation Institute. Her personal interest is also the role of local communities (she founded one in Prague 10) in building thriving sustainable – circular cities.

Filip is doing his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Munich. His research focus is on system resilience using distributed cryptography and lately distributed ledger technologies. He has international working experience, Cisco Systems Inc. in Silicon Valley, and Siemens in Munich. His area of expertise is IT security in which he has been developing for the past eight years. The main topics include applied cryptography, public awareness, education, backend secure development, and penetration, and automation testing. Ondra studied IT at FIT CTU and Human-Computer Interaction at Aalto University. He deals with UX and Service design and application of HCD methods in education. At FIT, CTU he educates on the design process as an approach to creating products and services. Ondra founded and organizes an educational international hackathon UniHack.cz. He collected experience and inspiration for his educational projects while studying abroad in Estonia, Finland and Sweden. Beyond the digital world, it is interested in urban public space design and renewable transport.

He organizes official FuckUp Nights in Prague and other major cities in the Czech Republic, and stands behind CEE Hacks innovative marathons (Hackathons), where global hackers and students solve problems in transport, energy, healthcare and social innovations. In 2019 and to celebrate the centenary of invention of the word “robot”, Tomáš started a project called THEaiTRE in which artificial intelligence wrote the script of the 1st theatre play ever written by non-human author.

In 2020, Pavlina became Corporate Affairs Director in Plzensky Prazdroj. Her main focus is sustainable development and support of innovations in sustainability area.

Zuzana Paulovics is managing acceleration program Start it @ČSOB which helps innovative startups grow their businesses. Her role is to make sure the projects have product-market-fit and build a profitable business model. Before that she was working on improving products and services in the segment of small and medium enterprises, as well as retail segment. She has international working experience from Hungary, from which she learned that if you apply the same solution for the same problem in a different market, it does not have the same outcome. She has a degree from VŠE, major in Foreign trade.

Filip graduated in economics and international relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. He has been working at BASF since 2006, when he joined the Agriculture Solutions Division.  Within BASF, he has held various positions in Belgium, Austria and the Czech Republic. Since 2015, he has held the position of General Manager of the BASF in the Czech Republic and since 2020, he has also been the Country Manager of BASF in Slovakia.

Since 2018, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Czech-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2020, he became a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry of the Slovak Republic. Matej studied law and European studies at Masaryk University in Brno and subsequently completed doctoral studies at the University of Economics in Prague. He currently works as the director of the project management and funds department in Operátor ICT, a.s. His responsibilities also include the Smart City area, within which the company Operátor ICT, a.s. implements pilot projects in the field of smart solutions in Prague, focusing on 6 main areas: mobility of the future, smart buildings and energy, waste-free city, data, attractive tourism, and finally people and the urban environment. Karel Vinkler, Ing. During his career he was responsible for generation portfolio optimization, dispatch control, trading at electricity and ancillary services market, hedging generation assets. Petr spent recent years in one of the big 4 consultancy companies providing a technology consulting services (bank regulations mostly) for various clients in Europe. He likes sharing economy & solutions for sustainable future. He developed his own NGO called Library of Things and currently is writing a thesis about circular economy.
